TALKS & MENTORING

Mentoring services for artists, musicians, and songwriters.

For twenty five years, and primarily as means to fund his music, M.E. Baird has held various lecturing positions across the disciplines of, architecture, design and the visual arts at several institutions in Victoria and New South Wales that included RMIT University, Melbourne, the UNSW College of Fine Arts & Design (COFA), the UNSW Built Environment Department, the University of Sydney, and Deakin University, Victoria. As a lecturer, he has received several awards for teaching and academic excellence. At Deakin University, his increasing passion for understanding the creative mind and the creative process led him to contribute to the development and delivery of evidence-based teaching methods for students studying architecture and design. This role also included writing several course outlines and teaching materials focused on creative philosophy, story, and the creative processes across various art forms.

Although he is no longer involved in university-based lecturing work, M.E. Baird continues to pursue independent research on songwriting, music, the visual arts, creativity and story. M.E. Baird has been delivering a regular lecture series at Pack Gallery, Byron Bay. The lectures cover a broad array of art history and creative philosophy topics, such as abstraction, abstract expressionism, symbolism in art, idea generation, the painted figure, the rise of the modern landscape, and more.
